SORTED YES LOST MY 2 POSTS Lets blog

I have lost my two posts Hrrrrrgggg(Think positive)He!He!He!

Thanks my friends for the nice comments but we go on :) blogging.

Well gives me the excuse to blog.yes I am on line,

Have you ever wondered why is it that you can’t seem to turn off the T.V,in spite of promising your self that you will?

ADDICTION is a disorder characterrized by criteria that include spending a great deal of time using the substance ,using it more often than one intends;thinking about reducing use or making  repeated unsuccessful effort to reduce use;giving up important social, family or occupational activities to use it,and reporting withdrawal symptoms when one stops using it.

Over the decades humanity has encountered numerous substances of addication.Temptations, which start out as pure indulgences may lead to addiction and many cases waste lives .Such temptation are not only in the form of physical substance but also things like gambling and our  not too innocent Idiot box. yes folks, you have read correctly, that is the box…..the television…. that many of us flick on and off numerous times during the day . can be regarded as a substance of addication.

Put very simply, the criteria of addiction ,as defined above, can apply to heavy viewers  i.e. those viewing more than four hours of T.V. daily and so ,to add to the list of growing ills blamed on T.V. is its addictive factor.

Have you ever wondered why is it that you can’t turn off the T.V.,just stop watching it in spite of promising yourself that you will, and the plain  fact that nothing worthwhile is on?Many of us  have faced the same problem……. the same love hate relationship with T.V. We may curse it,vow not to get a new one, even contemplate putting it away, yet the T.V. is not a whole bunch of garbage and evil.It has a lot of benefits.

It can teach, provide amusement,a means of escape  and much needed distraction not only for the totally out of control four year olds,,but also for their exhausted parents by the end of the day. From babies to the elderly, the T.V. holds attraction for all.and yes you read correctly,My friends A researcher has reported babies at six to eight weeks viewing T.V. and another slightly older infants turning their necks 180 degrees to catch a glimpse.

Television viewing is now the world’s  most popular liesure pastime. In industrial countries, individuals on average spends three hours daily watching T.V. which is half of their free time and most spent on any activity apart from work or sleep

A person who lives to be 75 has spent a total of 9 years watching T.V.

Ever heard someone complain "If the T.V is on I just can’t keep my eyes off it" How very true! The T.V’s attention-grabing property is due to something known as the orienting response. Ingrained through the evolutionary development, this provides an unconditional responsive to any auditory or visual stimulus and making up part of this reponse are factors such as dilation of blood vessels to  the brain.slowing of the heart and constriction of blood vessel to muscle( He!He!He! :)   ).

Tell me do people watch T.V. to fight boredom or does T.V. increase people’s susceptibilty to boredom and isolation?

Addictive or not you tell me He!He!He!

Tussle

From time immemorial, the tussle between science and religion has been going on.But it appears that the two disciplines now might find common ground.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same god who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

Galileo Galilei

Science and religion have played momentous roles in the progress of civilization.Science deals with the physical and material aspect of the universe, trying to unravel its mysteries and harnessing the forces of  nature for  the progress and prosperity of human beings.

Religion is related to the spiritual and metaphysical aspect of the universe, providing human beings with ethical, moral and social systems for their well-being and happiness. While science deals with "what"and"how" of nature and its phenomena, religion is concerned with "why" and intends to make human beings cognizant of the absolute reality behind all what they observe and experience.

A few centuries back when the renaissance took place Europe, science and religion as a consequence of the West’s specific historical background, stood face to face. When the people of religion were enjoying  the political dominance, the scientific thought had to face severe resistance and later on when scientific ideas spread all around and obtained popular acceptance and support. "The scientists’ natural reaction was to take vengeance on their former enemies".

For instance, Einstein said,

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind".

I remember reading  Pope John Paul has correctly said "Science can purify religion from error and superstition. Religion can purfy science from idolatry and false absolutes"

Therefore,we see a growing realization of the importance of dialogue between science and religion at the highest religious and scientific level.

On the whole, science and religion are two seprate desciplines, but they have very important overlapping areas where they seriously influence each other. From cosmology to medicine, there are  several subjects on which both have an opinion. On their common subjects, sometimes science and religion are in full conformity, but sometimes they have different standpoints. The interrelationship of the two subjects has  promoted enlightenment and rational thinking as well as a greater awareness of ethical and social realms of society.

Religion has almost lost its real identity……………..Its spiritual and social character, whereas social evils, superstitions and prejudices of all types have taken over the entire human beings.

Exploitation in the name of religion and spirituality is rampant. Islam, which is,with respect to its inner reality,a simple and logical way of life is at present dominated by purposeless rituals. Selfishness, materialism, and the lust for worldly gains have deprived man of the pleasure that comes from sacrifice and sharing ones joys with fellow human beings

The inter-relationship of science and religion, if seriously explored and emphasized, can immensely contribute to promoting enlightenment and moderation  in society and liberating it from prejudice, narrow- mindedness and ignorance. Science and religion should teach people rationalism, humanism, tolerance, the respect for diversity and plurality,as well as love :) and care not only for humanity but for all creatures.

Going for that walk ,He!He!He!

What is friendship?

To me it looks like this from where I am.(facts about friendship)

1.Dont worry about knowing people just make your self worth knowing.

2.True friends have hearts that beat as one .

3. Friends are those rare breed of people who asks "how are you " and then waits to hear the answer.

4.If you can buy a person’s friendship,it is not worth it.

5.If you cannot think of any nice things to say about your friends ,then you have the wrong friends.

6.Make friends before you need them.

7.If you were another person, would you like to be friend of yours?(if no then change my friend and smile to some people and feel good).

8. A good friend is the one who neither looks down on you nor keeps up with you.

9.Be friendly with the people you know.If it weren’t for them you would be a total stranger .

10.Friendship is a responsibilty…….not an opportunity.

11.friendship is a cement that holds the world together.

12.A friend is never known till he is needed.

13.Friends are those who speak to you when others don’t .

20.People are judged by the company they keep and the company they keep away from.

And try  and smile,Actions speak louder than words ,There are many times when you want to give words to your sentiments but you are not able to do so .This is were the smile comes in.it conveys your feelings to other people. But remember a fake smile can never do the trick.A smile should be genuine and sincere and must be from the core of ones heart. If your smile fulfils the above criteria, it will definitely work.

A smile does not cost a single penny and still leaves you  with loads of happiness, satisfaction and many a times an equally nice smile in return.

The best thing about smile is that the more you give the more you get .

And my friend a smile helps you to win people’s heart. It teaches you to be tolerant and patient and not only this,it makes you one of the most popular person around.

And my friend if your smile is genuine,  dont worry about what other people say or think about you.

Always keep a postive mental attitude .Think optimistically and  everything will go your way.

Be confident,Confidence is the key to success in todays world.Have faith in yourself and you will be going places.

To sum it up,always keep smiling through good times and even through the bad times, because it not only makes you feel better but also the people around you.
